What Should I Expect In An EMDR Intensive?

An Intensive is, well.. intense. It's a concentrated time of up to three hours to focus on your body's response to a single target. The goal is not to get through as much trauma as you can in one sitting but rather to allow your system enough time to fully adapt to how you reprocess your events. An intensive allows you the space to adapt to what happens in EMDR, slow down if needed, and fully recover before the end of our time together.

You will have the opportunity to eat, take a break, and ground yourself appropriately when needed.

Clients are welcome to attend in their comfy clothes and bring any items that are comforting. Bring your favorite snack and whatever you like to use for self-regulation.

Yeah, even a big teddy bear is welcome

Intensive sessions will run up to three hours and I only offer them in my Newington, CT office.
